The Parents say ...
Parents speak about their personal experiences
with The Career Identification Process we follow for guiding young people.
My son, Gautam, a clear headed boy, attended a
career counselling meet organised by ICS in 1997. He found that he was
able to reject a host of activities for his future career, which had earlier
served only to confuse him. He knew now what not to
do.
After this he sought Dr. Dass's advice on a
personal level. The whole interaction found him more focused and confident about
what he really to pursue as a career in the Creative Arts.
Thanks to endorsement by counselling, he is
now on the path to achieving what he desires as vocation in life - Advertising.
Anshoo C. Bajaj
"When my son Asheesh was to pass out of
Doon School after completing his I.S.C., the family and he were both
apprehensive of a career choice. Science and Maths were certainly not his
forte. An M.B.A. alone did not arouse his interest
and his talents were largely in the field of Drama, Oration, Video presenting
/ interviewing and such like he was also good at
sports. The natural family consensus was to seek the help of a professional
career counsellor. After a session at ICS, we had
the ideal career choice for my son staring us in the face for a child
who swept every extra-curricular award at school
poetry, drama, video presentation et al , what better than a career in mass
communication. After this we found out about the
various avenues within mass communications, the courses offered and the
institutes in this field".

As a parent, I consider career counselling
important because I feel that it makes us aware of the opportunities which available
for our children. I am also able to understand through aptitude tests and
counselling that the spectrum of choices is wide and
that my daughter can choose a profession in which her talents can be best
utilised. Counselling acts as a great facilitator; it
opens up a whole world of opportunities and it allows parent and child
together to make a successful choice.
Sumita Kandpal, IAS
As a parent I can say that my daughter has
benefited a lot from Career Counseling. It helped her sort her thoughts out on the
options she had been mulling over and pick the one that suited her best.
After finishing school at DPS RKP (Delhi Public
School, R.K. Puram) she was undecided between studying commerce and economics
and also had some vague ideas about
going abroad.
She went in for an exhaustive counseling at
ICS. Ultimately she decided to go abroad and study Economics with the ultimate
aim of doing an MBA from an Ivy League School in the U.S.
Her decision got crystallised after her
session with Dr. Dass and her team of counsellors.
Mrs. Renu Agarwala, Graphic Designer.
My son, Deepak, had applied to a number
of universities in U.S.A. while he was studying for his class 12 exams He had to
fill in application forms of a dozen American Universities which is no easy
job. It became too much for him leading to days of
depression and wastage of precious time which he could ill afford at that
time.
When Deepak went for counselling to Dr. Amrita
Dass he came out with a positive attitude. He is now well settled in the
University of Notre Dame, Indiana, U.S.A. Dr. Amrita Dass has a wonderful way
of inspiring and motivating the youth of today.
A hearful of thanks to Amrita ji from a once
upon a time worried mother.
